Neighborhoods

Seeking to create an urban community experience within the dormitory. The building seeks to mimc the same way in which Pratt campus operates as a series of buildings for the different majors, all sharing common public areas for interaction.

Composed of three unit types that satisfy particular necessities for different inhabitants making up three different neighborhood conditions. The space left in the middle becomes a social mixer which includes common study and leisure areas. Shifting openings from floor to floor allow interaction from one level to another.

The facade system allows for controlled change in privacy and light conditions in the units and allow balconies to be used during the winter season.
