URBAN MAGNET
Located in Rosario, Argentina, the project approach seeks to create a space for casual social interaction, being populated even when there is no performance going on in the auditorium.
A continuous spiral circulation with a series of gathering spaced (piazza, lobby, foyers, intermission, restaurant) allow for an organic flow through the whole building and provides framing points for main views of the city.
To activate the space, a cafe is placed at the piazza level and a restaurant is placed on the top floor overlooking the park and river side of the site. The outdoor ramp that is carved out of the massing allows for direct circulation to the top floor and becomes an extension of the park into the building.
