PERFORMANCE

Located in The Bronx, the project seeks to create an academy for performer artists, where the building itself becomes a place to display art, not only as a final product, but also to explore and appreciate the whole process of making art, creating a whole new experience.

The gallery becomes the central space, with the other programs (classrooms and studios) revolving around it. A sectional difference allows for separation of the academy into three main areas that follow the process of making art: learning stage (classrooms), process and production (studio) and final product exhibition (gallery).

The facade rethinks the idea of a window to allow light into a space and allows it to become part of openings is determined by the level of privacy intended in the space.
